Dr. Mary Shaw received her education at Boston College (B.S.N.) and the University of Florida (Nurse Practitioner Certification, M.N. and Ph.D.) in the area of Nursing. For many years she worked as a Nurse Practitioner and Educator for the University of Florida College of Medicine and for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). At the VA she was the Associate Director of Education & Evaluation at the Geriatric Research, Education, & Clinical Center.
Although called to healing from an early age, in 1996, the Lord specifically called Dr. Shaw to serve in the ministry of healing prayer, bringing His comfort and healing to the broken hearted and freedom to those in captivity (Is. 61:1). Her desire is that all come to know Christ and receive His gift of salvation. Since 1998, she has served as a short term missionary, team leader, and teacher, often representing Renewal Ministries, with a focus on Eastern Europe, primarily the Czech Republic & Slovakia. She teaches and ministers extensively on healing prayer, discipleship, and life in Christ. More recently, she has been sought to minister to and teach clergy and other leaders in the areas of healing prayer, particularly inner healing and freedom from demonic oppression.
Mary received extensive training in ministry at many places including Christian Healing Ministries in Jacksonville, Pastoral Counseling School Institute for World Evangelization, International Catholic Program for Evangelization (ICPE) in Germany, and in the mission field.
She is active as a conference speaker, retreat leader, seminar leader, and teacher nationally and internationally. Mary is a certified Spiritual Director through The Cenacle of Our Lady of Divine Providence School of Spirituality in affiliation with Franciscan University.
Since 2007, Mary has been a full member of the Marian Servants of the Blessed Sacrament. She currently serves on the Diocesan Charismatic Leadership Group and the All Florida Catholic Charismatic Commission (AFCCC). She has served as a Pastoral Leader to the People of Praise Prayer Group in Gainesville Fl.
At home, Dr. Shaw serves as the Director for Healing Ministry at her home parish. Here she teaches and ministers in areas of healing, deliverance, generational healing, healing from miscarriage and abortion, and walking with the Lord. She works to bring the healing love of Christ to His people that they may be saved and equipped to bring the truth of the Gospel to others.
Dr. Shaw, along with the Marian Servants of the Blessed Sacrament Community, helped to develop and implement the Marian Servants of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic School of Healing Prayer. She has served as a teacher for this school since the first one was held in 2011.
Mary is available to speak at conferences, do parish missions, or hold retreats. Please see “Teaching Topics” for more information.
